Day 1 - Christchurch to Franz Josef  Leaving Christchurch and heading west via some back country gravel to the majestic Arthurs Pass. Jaw dropping scenery through this National Park then over to the deserted coastal highways of the West Coast with its fantastic glacier country.

Day 2 - Franz Josef to Queenstown  A highway riding day heading south through dense native bush and the Haast Pass before the stunning southern lakes and beautiful Wanaka. From here is through the Cardrona Valley, Crown Range and zig zag road down to Arrowtown and the tourist mecca of Queenstown.

Day 3 - Queenstown to Alexandra  Along Lake Wakatipu to Garston then into the gravel and the famous Nevis Valley with 4WD tracks plus creek and river crossings to keep the adrenaline pumping. Clyde and Cromwell are next, then plenty of farm gates through high country farm land and back to Alexandra.

Day 4 - Alexandra to Otematata  A steep climb on 4WD tracks thru the Old Man Range, driving over the Roxburgh hydro dam, a fuel and pie stop in Roxburgh,  back country routes past Lake Onslow to Ranfurly - wow, what a morning! The afternoon takes us over the sweeping gravel corners and vistas of Danseys Pass and up the Waitaki Valley to Otematata.

Day 5 - Otematata to Christchurch  Hakataramea Pass, Mackenzie Pass and Burkes Pass to Fairlie, or depending on conditions over Lake Benmore dam then through Black Forest Station and onto the glacial lakes of Pukaki and Tekapo to Fairlie. The inland scenic route via the Rakia Gorge and Darfield takes us back to Christchurch.
